Blackmore Christmas Meet 2021

2021 was the first time we used the club site for a winter meet in many years. It proved to be a great way of getting the full site facilities for meet prices and this was demonstrated by the number of campers who joined us.

The site itself is positioned in quiet surroundings with a bus route outside
that could take you to places such as Malvern or Worcester. It has a local shop and a pub not too far away so you can get supplies or a meal without too much bother. However, the difference being on a meet is that we had some entertainment in the hall on site.

This time the stewards John and Anne did a quiz that had us all in stitches with the answers.

Christmas Meal 2021

The highlight of the meet was no doubt the Christmas meal organised by Edith, a lovely meal at the Bluebell Inn that was a couple of miles away, so she even laid on a coach to take us in style (and bring us back).
So, to summarise a great site with social camping and a fantastic meal what’s not to love!

I’m ready to book in for Christmas 2022.

THS Stow on the Wold

Stow on the Wold

Well, what a great time was had by all who came along. It was a free and easy holiday meet with a get together each evening if campers wished to. We had campers who had been before and many who hadn’t so it was a nice mix with people making new friends. There were community buses garaged on site which campers with prior arrangement were able to use, if they wished, to get to see some of the other villages in the Cotswolds and many did. We had a charging station on site for charging up mobile phones and electric buggies etc for a small donation which we are giving to the community buses to help support them. The weather certainly made for a very enjoyable time with plenty of sun and warmth ( we shouldn’t really say but sometimes a little too hot). We had many campers who, as they were leaving said they had had a great time in a lovely part of the country and they would be back again next year which is always nice to hear. Thanks to Steve, Helen and Edith for their help stewarding: their support was greatly appreciated.

Plenty to see and do! There was a bus stop right outside the entrance to our camping!!

Thanks to Tim and Muriel for being our stewards.

National Meet and AGM 2022

The Motor Caravan Section (MCS) 60th National Meet and AGM at the South of England Showground, Ardingly from 1st to 5th June which coincided with the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations was an absolute delight! Well supported and enjoyed by everyone attending.

A street party, BBQ, Entertainment, dancing, singing and a trip to Brighton.

Roll on the next one in 2023! This is being organised by East Midlands Area of the Motor Caravan Section at Measham and promises to be another excellent event! We are looking forward to it.

The date for our diaries is Friday 26th May to Monday 29th May 2023.

A big thank you to all the organisers for doing a fabulous job !

Droitwich Spa April/May 2022

Our return visit to the equestrian centre near Droitwich-Spa was well supported with units from various areas of the country.

April/May 2022

The sun joined us for the first couple of days but the showers that followed didn’t stop the show.

The Canal festival was in full swing throughout the weekend and a good time was had by all!

The site has already been booked for a return visit in 2023!

Great support for Wolverley Meet 2022!

An excellent turn out at our recent Meet at the Wolverley Camping and Caravanning Club site.

A lovely place, well recommended and the shone shone down!

View from the Club Site towards St. John the Baptist Church, Wolverley

Our social activities went well and the nearby canal side pub proved very popular for dining out as did the nearby tea rooms.

Cranberry Moss – a little gem!

The rain didn’t stop a brave band of units enjoying a very pleasant weekend at Cranberry Moss. Yes, a little gem: excellent facilities and and a very convenient location. Bus to Oswestry or Shrewsbury right on the door step. With Halloween thrown in and the sun coming out during the day who cares if it rains at night!

A few ‘in your own van’ quizzes racked our brains and some well dressed Halloween Vans made the weekend; topped off with shopping in the nearby towns. Thank you to Edith for Stewarding assisted by Andrea and Rob. Thank you also to everyone for attending so nice to see some new members coming along too.

Hereford Rowing Club Meet

What a brilliant meet! Fully booked and enjoyed by all. Breakfast in the Club and food available throughout the day.

Walks along the river and just a gentle stroll into the beautiful city of Hereford.

It was really nice to hear of old friends meeting up again by chance!

We will be back in 2021 to meet more friends old and new!

THS at Stow on the Wold

Our THS at Stow on the Wold proved very popular. We had a nice mix of motorhomes and Caravans all keen to enjoy the local countryside surrounding Stow on the Wold. Some came for a few days some for a week or more. The local markets and pretty Cotswold villages proved to be a great attraction particularly on market days.

The village bus operating during the week was very useful and well supported.

The ramblers soon had their boots on and found a nearby 11th century church.

We plan to return in 2021 – more information in due course.

Parking for motorhomes at nearby Bourton on the Water with its Motor Museum and interesting riverside shops is particularly good being close to the village.
